“University of Michigan head football coach Sherron Moore has been fired with cause, effective immediately,” athletic director Walder Manuel announced in a statement at the time. “Following a university investigation, there is credible evidence that Coach Moore had an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct is a clear violation of university policy and the University of Michigan has zero tolerance for such conduct.”

“(The staff member) stated that she was approximately 5 feet away from the door when he entered,” court records state. “She advised that she began to back away as he approached her. (She) advised Moore to pull two knives from a drawer and point them at her, ‘You’re ruining my life. You’re ruining my life.'”

Moore then allegedly pushed the woman into the living room and when she was able to call her attorney, he “stepped back, pointed the knife at himself, put the knife at his neck and said he was going to kill himself and she would watch.”

Sherron then fled the apartment and was arrested in a nearby church parking lot. He was released on $25,000 bail and required to wear a GPS ankle monitor. He was also banned from contacting the staff member.

Kelli and Sherrone married in 2015 and have daughters Shiloh (born in 2019), Solei (born in 2022) and Sadie (born in 2025).
