Funnily enough, the show everyone’s talking about at the water cooler this year seems to take place…in The Office. But this is no ordinary office. In this darkly humorous drama, Adam Scott (parks and recreation) plays an employee of biotech company Lumon Industries. Scott’s character, along with everyone else who works at Lumon, undergoes a medical procedure called “severance,” which separates memories of office life from those of the outside world.
As a result, most characters have two distinct personalities: “introverts” who only exist in the office, and “extroverts” who interact with the rest of the world. The system was soon revealed to be darker and more complex than Lumon employees expected.
