“Because I’m like (american idol) — I wish I was still like that — but it was almost like, ‘Maybe we’re not going to do this song,'” she explains.
“Before He Cheats” first appeared on her debut album, some heartswas released in November 2005, and was released a second time as a single the following year.

“I was vacuuming my house recently and when I turned the vacuum off there was a noise coming from my bedroom and I was like, ‘This is music,'” the singer said, revealing that she recognized it as soon as she got closer. “I walked in there and my 6-year-old (Jacob) was laying on my bed watching my music videos. I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ And he was like, ‘Nothing.'”
