Blake Lively asks Ben Affleck for help with ‘Joker’ Justin Baldoni in email

Barroso, 49, apparently apologized to Lively for her “bad” experience on the film.

“We will help you in any way we can,” Damon appeared to write. “If this experience doesn’t completely destroy your soul, Blake, you should come and direct your next movie at Artists Equity. We’re kind of like a cult, but a really good one.”

The documents were filed as part of Lively’s unsealed testimony Tuesday as her legal battle with Baldoni continues. Lively and Baldoni have been arguing in court since 2024. gossip Girl Pearl filed a preliminary complaint with the California Civil Rights Department. She later sued Baldoni over sexual harassment allegations.

Baldoni continued to deny the allegations against him and countersued Lively that same year, but his lawsuit was dismissed in June 2025. The pair will begin a civil trial in court in May this year.
