Hilary Duff No holding back in her new music.
Duff, 38, got a sneak peek of her new single “Roommates” via social media Friday, January 9th.
“Want a highlight, ten out of ten/Butterflies come from holding your hand,” she sings. “Before they swept us under the bed/We were almost roommates.”
She adds, “I’ve been touching myself at the front door/because of you Don’t even know my way no longer. “

Duff announced Friday that “Roommates” will begin airing on Thursday, January 15 at 7 p.m. ET. This is probably one of the tracks on her upcoming album, Luck…or whatever.
“I’m often asked how I can maintain my sanity after growing up in this industry,” Duff said in a November 2025 press release. Announcing new LP. “The album title is my way of answering that question. It’s luck, but ‘… or whatever’ is also important. A lot of the things I’ve experienced along the way are there, and I feel like that ultimately shaped me. “
Luck…or whatever This will be Duff’s first new album in 10 years, following 2015 Inhaled. call. The album’s first single “Mature” was released in November 2025.
“It’s definitely about a brief period in my (life) – a long, long time ago,” Duff Tell Fashion thenhinting that “Mature” is about a past relationship of hers. “It’s not entirely autobiographical. I took some artistic liberties just to make the song work structurally, but the gist is the gist.”
She added, “I look back on the relationship and wonder if this guy had a habit of dating younger women, or if I was ‘special.’ The whole experience was so worth writing about, but it was really scary to be so vulnerable in music.”
Duff wrote “Mature” and much of the album with her husband, Matthew Butt.
“‘Maturing’ was a conversation with my younger self about being happy with where I was,” she recalled to the outlet. “Part of it was an idea that Matt came up with, and part of it came from thinking about not being able to recognize a younger version of myself in my 30s. Obviously, Matt knew all the stories from my past, and he was really good at coming up with a concept that I could come in and design the entire interior.”

Duff has been married to Koma, a 38-year-old Winnetka Bowling League musician, since 2019. They have three daughters together and Duff is also the mother of son Luca from a previous marriage.
