The 60-year-old actress accepted the honor during an annual primetime special on CBS and Paramount+ golden nightairing Thursday, January 8. Before accepting the award, Parker was honored by her husband, Matthew Broderick and friends Coleman Domingo and Kristin Davis.
“To my beloved family, my talented husband of just under 30 years, Matthew Broderick, who gave me a family discount and free access to his acting and comedy masterclasses,” she said. “His dedication and dedication to his family made us the divine James, Will, Loretta and Tabitha we are. God, I love you so much and admire you so much. I want to make you proud of the people you become every day at home and at work.”
Parker also expressed her gratitude to her parents and team, sex and city co-stars and Burnett herself.

The Golden Globes announced Parker as the Carol Burnett Award winner in November 2025, noting in a press release at the time that the honor “recognizes her contributions to the television industry both in front of and behind the camera.”
“Sarah Jessica Parker’s career embodies the spirit of the Carol Burnett Awards,” Golden Globes Chairman Helen Huney said in a statement. “Her groundbreaking impact on television and her dedication to storytelling on stage and screen have left an indelible mark on popular culture. We are honored to celebrate her extraordinary contributions to the entertainment industry.”
The Carol Burnett Award was established at the Golden Globe Awards in January 2019. The honorary award is named after its first recipient, 92-year-old Burnett. Since then, the award has been awarded to Ellen DeGeneres 2020, norman lear 2021, Ryan Murphy 2023 and Ted Danson 2025.
The 2026 Golden Globe nominations include an impressive list of names from the year’s biggest movies and TV shows, and stars are grateful for the honor.
