Narwal adds AI to its cleaners to manage pets and find jewelry

Robotics Narwhal unveiled its new smart vacuum cleaner at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) with AI capabilities such as tracking pets, finding valuables, and notifying users of lost toys.

The company said its new Flow 2 robots have a circular design and are easy to carry around tanks for better cleaning. The device uses two 1080p RGB cameras with a 136-degree field of view to detect locations and recognize different types of objects using AI models.

Narwal said that through this technology stack, the washing machine can detect an infinite number of objects. The device tries to identify a nearby object, but if there is no match, it sends the data to the cloud for further processing.

Flow 2 has three main modes called pet care mode, baby care mode, and AI floor tag mode. With a pet care system, you can define areas where pets often rest or hang out to clean. In addition, it can monitor pets and monitor your pets via audio-way audio (there’s no guarantee they’ll hear you, though). In the nursery, the vacuum automatically switches to silent mode next to the bed and notifies you of misplaced toys. In the form of an AI tag on the floor, the vacuum detects valuables such as jewelry, avoids them, and warns you.

Narwal said his newest vacuum cleaner has four cleaning modes that can detect different types of smoke. The device can also return to its base to clean the pump and then mop the area again if it is dirty. The company noted that the design of the Flow 2 allows the temperature of the hot water to clean better.

Along with the Flow 2, the company also introduced a hand towel called the U50 that weighs 1.41kg (3.1 lbs) and has a UV-C barrier and heat treatment to remove allergens. The company also released an unnamed cordless vacuum with a compact design, 360-degree swivel, and up to 50 minutes of run time. The cordless vacuum also has a vacuum that can last up to 60 days of dust removal.
