Rob Reiner Recognized during live television Critics’ Choice Awards 2026.
As the biggest star in Hollywood Attend annual events On Sunday, January 4, at Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, host Chelsea Handler Taking the time to pay tribute to Rob and his late wife in her opening monologue, Michelle Singer Rainer. Handler, 50, pays tribute to Lehner brothers after call Adam sandler “The nicest guy in Hollywood.”
“The truth is, you’re the second-nicest guy in Hollywood,” Handler said. “Because everyone in this room knows that the nicest guy in Hollywood is Rob Reiner. Anyone who has spent time with Rob Reiner knows that the minute you meet him, he feels like an old friend. When you talk to him, he’s present, he’s attentive, he’s funny, and he asks you a lot of questions. Whether you’re discussing politics, movies, or the latest beauty trends, he’s in it.”
The comedian went on to share personal memories of Rob and Michelle, noting that she met them last year before their deaths.

“I sent him a text a few months ago to thank him for dinner, and he texted me back and said, ‘We had so much fun with you last night. Thank you for explaining so much about plastic surgery, it was very enlightening,'” Handler recalled. “Rob and Michelle have worked tirelessly to (support) so many important causes, all rooted in one fundamental idea: decency. We should all be looking out for each other. I think we can all agree that we definitely need more of that. So, let’s use tonight to be a reminder of that decency and a reminder of everything Rob and Michelle stand for and fight for.”

One day later, us Confirmed that Rob and Michele’s son Nick Lehner Arrested for the death of his parents. He has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Nick has not yet entered a plea, but has employment Strong lawyer Alan Jackson (previously for Karen Reed) to represent him. His arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, January 7.

While the tribute recognized Rob’s achievements on the big screen, the statement also praised the director and Michele duo for their achievements.
“Rob was also a passionate, courageous citizen who not only cared about the country he loved but did everything he could to make it a better place, and he and his beloved wife Michelle were the perfect match,” via Associated Press pointed out. “Michelle and Rob Reiner were strong and determined and dedicated so much of their lives to improving the lives of our fellow citizens. … They were a special force – dynamic, selfless and inspiring. We were their friends and they will be forever missed.”
