Matthew Lawrence is sharing his feelings about dealing with the breakdown of his marriage in the public eye after splitting from his ex-wife Cheryl Burke.
The 45-year-old actor opened up about the breakup in an interview daily mail Published on Thursday, January 1, when he was asked what it was like to connect with a new partner chili (real name Rozonda Thomas), after his very public divorce. “One of the interesting things when you choose to pursue a career like this is that your private life is public, so you have to present those things on a public stage,” he told the outlet. “I don’t think it’s any fun for anybody, you know?”
Lawrence, who has remained relatively tight-lipped about his separation from Burke over the years, added that it was difficult to accept other people’s opinions about the problems in his marriage.

“Especially when you don’t really have control over the narrative or the narrative isn’t even true, you kind of have to say, ‘Okay, I’ve got to get on with my life and keep living the life that I want to live. And the people that I care about know what’s real and what’s not,'” he continued. “And you just have to develop a thick skin and move on.”
