Update — 12/30/25 8:05pm ET: Police discovered a body while searching a field for signs of the missing teen on Tuesday, December 30 Camila Mendoza Olmos.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the discovery of the remains but said they have not yet been identified. The official cause of death has also not yet been determined. However, Sheriff Javier Salazar Indeed said the clothes found on the body were “very similar” to what investigators believe Mendoza Olmos was last seen wearing.
Salazar revealed that a firearm was also found during a search of the property not far from Mendoza Olmos’ home.

Camila Mendoza Olmos was last seen on the morning of Wednesday, December 24, when she left her home in Bexar County, Texas, around 6:58 a.m. Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar told abc news The Sheriff’s Office is working with the FBI to locate Mendoza Olmos and the Department of Homeland Security to monitor potential border crossings and international travel.
Salazar also noted that they believe Mendoza Olmos is in “imminent danger” and said investigators have not ruled out kidnapping and human trafficking as potential factors in her disappearance. However, he did note that she could also leave the home voluntarily.
“We definitely don’t want to miss anything,” Salazar said. “The ground search is somewhat limited to a few square miles. We also don’t rule out the possibility that this case could take us beyond the borders of the continental United States.”

The mother said she woke up about 90 minutes later to find her daughter was not home but her car was still at the residence. Rosario tried to find her daughter by calling her cell phone, but she later discovered the phone had been left on the bed.
“I charged it up and went out to look for her. I figured I would find her like I do every other time, walk, and then we’d go home together,” she told the outlet, adding that her daughter would often start her mornings with a walk.
While little is known about Mendoza Olmos’ disappearance, ABC News reports that investigators believe she left the residence on foot. Salazar added that it was “highly unusual” for Mendoza Olmos to leave without her cell phone, which he said made her case even more concerning. “That’s why we’re basically working on this case around the clock,” he said.
Salazar also revealed that Mendoza Olmos had recently gone through a “mutual” breakup before disappearing. However, authorities do not believe anything “evil” happened during the split.
Additionally, Salazar confirmed to ABC News that Mendoza Olmos is a U.S. citizen and is not in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.
“That’s a personal concern of mine,” Salazar said. “So, I checked to make sure there was no stop, no detention, and that she wasn’t somewhere in a federal detention facility. That’s something we need to check.”
He also said her friends and family are cooperating with authorities as the investigation into her disappearance continues.
The teen was last seen wearing a light blue and black hoodie, light blue pajama pants and white shoes.
