Ruby and husband Kevin Frank Started their 8 passenger channel 2015. Initially, their content featured the couple and their six children, then Ruby’s friend Hildebrandt appeared. Ruby and Hildebrandt eventually changed their name to Mother Truth in order to share more faith-based content.
Ruby and Hildebrandt arrested and charged In 2023, he was arrested on six counts. Ruby’s youngest son, who was 12 at the time, was arrested after he escaped from Hildebrandt’s home and sought help from a neighbor. Authorities noted the child was malnourished and had duct tape wrapped around his ankles and wrists.
In December 2023, Ruby pleaded guilty to four counts of child abuse and admitted that she abused her own children. As part of the plea agreement, she agreed to serve time and Her sentences will be executed consecutively. She also agreed to testify against Hildebrandt, who pleaded guilty.

How did Jody and Ruby form a friendship?

Mother Truth/InstagramHildebrandt was a therapist in Utah before founding ConneXions, a program that provides marriage, parenting and life counseling — Usually directed at Mormons.
Ruby and Hildebrandt met through church and became friends in 2019. From there, Ruby and Kevin began taking ConneXions classes, but their marriage subsequently fell apart. Ruby and Hildebrandt began living with Ruby’s children until they were arrested.

MEGA TheMegaAgency.com (2)In 2023, Ruby’s then 12-year-old son fled Hildebrandt’s residence in August 2023 and asked neighbors to call the police about his emaciated condition. Ruby and Hildebrandt were arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated child abuse.
Ruby and Hildebrandt each pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child abuse and were sentenced to four to 60 years in prison. Under Utah’s law on consecutive sentences, their sentences would not exceed 30 years.

Mother Truth/InstagramAfter more than a year of separation before his arrest, Kevin filed for divorce from Ruby and filed for custody in 2023. Ruby and Kevin previously gained custody of their children, and a judge approved the divorce in March 2025.
Kevin Agree to consider any child support payments Ruby’s debt was paid off. Meanwhile, Ruby was ordered to have no contact with the children. She also asked to keep her last name “Frank” rather than revert to her maiden name.
The former couple agreed to transfer their home in Springville to Kevin, along with a property in Schofield, Carbon County. Ruby will keep the $85,000 she withdrew from their financial accounts, but the remaining shared funds (outside of the investment account in Ruby’s name) will all go to Kevin.
Kevin and Ruby did not seek alimony from each other, and he later remarried.

Mother Truth/InstagramRuby is currently serving a 4 to 30 year sentence at the Utah State Correctional Facility in Salt Lake City. She won’t appear before the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole until December 2026, which will decide the exact length of her sentence. The same goes for Hildebrandt, who is also serving time at the Utah Correctional Facility.
YouTube has banned Ruby and Hildebrandt and removed channels associated with their names. After their arrest, Hildebrandt’s consulting license was frozen.

It got everyone where they needed to be. It separated me from Jody, so I couldn’t hear her voice. I think not hearing her voice has cleared a lot of things for me.”
Hildebrandt, whose jail audio was also recorded, defended herself and said Ruby’s son “did this to himself” while discussing his serious injuries.

Hulu released a documentary, “Family Devil: The Fall of Ruby Frank,” in February 2025, which featured Ruby’s ex-husband and two eldest children.
That same month, Investigation Discovery featured Ruby and Hildebrandt as the subjects of their Strange Cases series. The network then produced Ruby & Geordie: The Cult of Guilty and Clout, which was released in September 2025. Netflix has released the truth about Jody, titled The Evil Influencer, which will premiere in December 2025.
