You can change your Gmail address soon

Good news for anyone tired or embarrassed of their Gmail address: You can quickly change it without losing your old emails and files.

As first spotted by the Google Pixel Hub team on Telegraph and later reported in 9to5Google. gmail.com.”

When you switch, your old Gmail address should be used as a username, and you can sign in to your Google account with your new or old email address. However, you cannot create additional Gmail addresses linked to your account for another 12 months.

Starting Sunday afternoon, English language version of the support page says, “If your account’s email address ends in @ gmail.com, you usually can’t change it” and instead recommends change the name Address matching or registering to a new address and then transferring emails with your contacts.
