A federal judge temporarily barred the Trump administration from arresting or firing Imran Ahmed, the agency’s CEO Center for Counting Digital Hate (CCDH).
The New York Times said that Ahmed is one of the five researchers and supervisors use cyberbullying and distractions he was angered by the US State Department, which announced this week that he is not allowed in the United States.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio he explained about the people he followed as “liberal activists and armed non-governmental organizations” who “have led efforts to pressure American platforms to investigate, defund, and suppress American views that they oppose.”
While Ahmed was born in the United Kingdom, he has a US green card, lives in the United States, and has an American wife and child.
Ahmed defended his work internally interview with PBS Newsdescribing the government move as “another example of companies (like Meta, OpenAI, and Elon Musk’s X) trying to avoid responsibility by using their big money to try and influence politics.”
X’s case against CCDH was laid off last yearbut the request is pending.
