Six sponsors have recently announced they are leaving esports team FaZe Clan following unsuccessful negotiations with new management.
Bloomberg reports known as Adapt, Jason, Ronaldo, Lacy, Rage, and Silky – the whole list on the FaZe Clan website – both announced their departure from the group.
Change it wrote on X that he spent 14 years as part of FaZe Clan: “More than half of my life, I’d be lying if I said it didn’t hurt me, but it has to be done.”
Another member of FaZe Clan who left in August described what happened when the founders felt they had “no control, and it’s like we’re puppets.”
The sponsors have reportedly been in talks with Faze Clan investor HardScope and its CEO Matt Kalish for the past half year. Kalish plans to continue the team without the departing founders.
“I think they’re all good kids and they’ve got a lot of people in their ears and they’re confused,” he told Bloomberg. He added that the group’s financial structure is “unsustainable.”
FaZe Clan went public in 2022, but the company was bought by GameSquare for $17 million the following year, and Its CEO was fired.
