Chung said in a statement. “DEA reminds the public that nearly 70 percent of all drug-related deaths involve synthetic opioids such as fentanyl. Two milligrams of fentanyl is a potentially fatal dose.”

Purvis was released on $15,000 bail in July and returned home that same month. The judge ordered that Purvis’ bond be modified, allowing her to return home after 14 days in custody on conditions that include Purvis continuing to receive treatment, abstaining from drugs or alcohol, submitting to monthly drug screenings, not contacting the victim’s family directly or indirectly and adhering to a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew.
