90 day fiancéof Elizabeth Castravit Sharing an emotional update following her father’s death, Chuck Pottast.
taken to Instagram On Saturday, November 29, Elizabeth, 35, posted a video of herself and husband, Andre CucumberShe posed for a photo with her two children in a field and added a caption detailing her grief. “I have never experienced anything as difficult as grieving before. Andre and I are doing everything we can to make sure our kids stay happy and have a normal life. I try to do the things we normally do, but then find myself feeling guilty in the process,” she wrote. “I tried to smile and feel better, but honestly, deep down I was hurting.”
She then asked fans to share suggestions for ways to cope, telling one fan who lost his father and was in shock for a year, “I’m still in shock (too) and that’s the truth.”
Chuck appears on the TLC reality show with his daughter’s family and his own extended family, died last month. Elizabeth and Andrei, 39, jointly posted the news on Instagram on November 23. “Two weeks ago, tragedy struck our family and left us completely devastated. My sweet, loving, caring dad went to heaven. We are trying to figure out how to navigate our lives and move on without him,” the couple, who married in 2017 and have a daughter, Eleanor, and a son, Winston, wrote. “Please respect our privacy during this extremely difficult time.”
Elizabeth reached out to several fans who commented on her recent post, telling one person who suggested she “put an album together with his photos” that it was “a great idea.”
Another fan suggested Elizabeth switch to “believing he’s in a better place,” to which she replied: “Yeah.”
Two days after Elizabeth and Andrei’s statement, Andrei shared a statement of his own tribute to his late father-in-law. “It’s been very, very hard for us,” Andre told the camera in a video shared via Instagram on Tuesday, November 25. “I know there have been dramas and tensions and storylines over the years, but what people see on TV is only a small part of our true relationship. What I can say is that Chuck really loved filming. He loved the energy, he loved the excitement, he really did. The connection that we all had… he loved everyone.”
The show, which premiered in January 2014 and follows an international character who marries an American partner and completes the process within the required 90-day visa period, rarely saw eye to eye during Chuck’s filming.
Andre admitted this in his tribute, which was a dramatic addition to the show. “Some of my best memories are just off camera, when we were on TV laughing and talking and joking about how we would fight, and in real life we got along so well… like best friends,” he said. “That’s how I’m going to remember him.”
Andre continued, “I want to make it clear that all the rumors and headlines that are being circulated right now are just lies. When it comes to what actually happened, I will talk about it later in a respectful way. For now, I just want to pay tribute to him. There is so much more to say about that…about our true connection and the truth behind it all. Rest in peace, Chuck.”
