“‘Sexy Chef’ was a part of me in season one, but we grew apart season after season because of the choices he made and the directions those choices took him,” Bravo told IndieWire in October 2024. “I’ve never been further away from him.”
Bravo claimed he was trying to express his issues. “(But) there’s only so much I can do within the constraints of the script,” he added. “I tried to bring nuance throughout the seasons, but we didn’t have a lot of freedom on set. We couldn’t change a word or an emotion. They knew what they wanted, we just had to comply.”
